With just two teams left standing this season, we're starting to hear more and more about what the other 28 teams may look like once next season gets going. The Los Angeles Clippers have plenty of work to do following their disappointing defeat at the hands of the Rockets, and it starts with DeAndre Jordan.

Where do the Clippers go from here?
The L.A. Clippers' season officially came to an end Sunday afternoon with the team's 113-100 defeat in Game 7 at the hands of the Houston Rockets. If you'd told me one week ago today that this was a sentence I would be typing, I'd have been completely bewildered. Yet here we are.

Clippers melt down, lose Game 6
A little more than midway through the third quarter on Thursday night, everything was dandy around Staples Center. The Clippers had awakened from their first half slumber with a thunderous roar, and were in the process of running the Houston Rockets right out of the building. Blake Griffin had just converted a no-look, spinning, over-his-head, how-on-earth-did-he-do-that layup to give L.A. a commanding 86-68 lead, and the Clips looked well on their way to the first conference finals berth in the franchise's long, tortured history. This game wasn't going to be close!

Rockets return the favor, smack Clippers in Game 5
The L.A. Clippers haven't enjoyed consecutive off days since the two days in between Games 1 and 2 of the Spurs series back on April 21-22. They came into Houston on Tuesday up three games to one in their current series with the Rockets, with a golden opportunity to close it out and finally get a few days of rest. Unfortunately for the Clippers, the Rockets had other ideas.

Clippers dismantle Rockets, take 3-1 lead
For just the second time in franchise history, the Los Angeles Clippers are now one game from the conference finals following Sunday's 128-95 trouncing of the Houston Rockets. Back in 2006, the team featuring the likes of Elton Brand, Sam Cassell and Chris Kaman was beaten by 20 in Game 7 of their second round series against the Phoenix Suns, which was the closest the team has ever been to this stage of the playoffs.

Game 3 Preview: Chris Paul is back
The L.A. Clippers were well on their way to a rather shocking 2-0 series lead in their second round showdown with the Houston Rockets at halftime of Game 2, when they held a healthy 65-56 lead. They'd just dumped 41 second quarter points on the Rockets, who looked shellshocked and generally out-of-sorts. The players were likely in for a halftime tongue-lashing from Kevin McHale, as the Clips had Houston on the ropes.

Western Conference Semifinal Preview: L.A. Clippers vs. Houston Rockets
By the time game one tips-off this evening at Toyota Center, we'll still be less than 48 hours removed from the Los Angeles Clippers' resounding 111-109 triumph over the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday evening. Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets haven't played since last Tuesday, when they officially disposed of the Dallas Mavericks.

Blake Griffin's historical postseason
The opinion that it's a shame one of the L.A. Clippers or San Antonio Spurs will be headed home after round one of the playoffs is shared throughout the basketball-watching community. They're the victims of the NBA's outdated seeding system that rewards teams for relatively meaningless division championships. Had the playoff teams been seeded in order of actual win-loss record, the Clippers would've faced Portland and the Spurs would've played Memphis. But that's not why we're here.

Clippers have evened things up, but still have plenty of work to do
Following Friday night's 100-73 beatdown at the hands of the Spurs, let's just say the mood surrounding Clipper fans everywhere wasn't an overly positive one. When you factor in the gut-check factor of the way they threw away game two, the ship seemed to have started to sink helplessly into the ocean. The Clips were now down 2-1 in a series they could've easily led 2-0, and there was still another game to play in San Antonio on Sunday. The Spurs were 33-8 at home during the regular season, and hadn't lost at AT&T Center since the Cavaliers took them down way back on March 12th. To say the Clippers faced a daunting task on Sunday would be quite the understatement, indeed.

Paul, Griffin Dominate as Clippers Crush Spurs
So it's weird that the Clippers, despite owning the third-best record in the West and holding home court advantage in at least the first round of the postseason are actually underdogs, but that's where we are. The Spurs are the defending champions and have been playing at an insanely high level for over a month now, so it's not like their status as favorites was unwarranted.

Clippers-Spurs Preview
So the Spurs are taking on the Clippers in what has to be the most widely-anticipated series of the NBA's first round of the playoffs, with game one at STAPLES Center scheduled for Sunday evening. These teams split the season series, winning two games apiece, with L.A. taking the two most recent clashes. However, there was only one meeting this season in which both teams had their full complement of regulars. This was L.A.'s resounding 105-85 triumph in San Antonio back on January 31st. As a way of previewing the upcoming series, let's go back through that game and see what worked well for both sides, and what didn't work so well.

Clippers' Job Done, But What Do They Want to Happen Tonight?
The L.A. Clippers wrapped-up their regular season with a resounding beatdown of the Phoenix Suns in Arizona last night, and now they wait to see their fate.

The Clippers Should Probably Avoid the Spurs
If the playoffs began today (which they don't, so this almost surely means absolutely nothing), the L.A. Clippers would find themselves in a 4-5 matchup with the Portland Trail Blazers. Because Portland has won their division, they'd technically be the No. 4 seed despite having a worse record than LAC. Fortunately, the Clips would still have home court advantage, making the "division champion" distinction exceedingly useless and stupid.

Clippers-Warriors Preview (3.31.15)
The L.A. Clippers haven't had many "rivalries" throughout their history to this point, though there seems to be one burgeoning with their neighbors to the north, the Golden State Warriors.

Clips Look to Get Back on Track Against Hornets
Following a brutal stretch of the schedule that pitted them against a trio of legitimate contenders, the Clippers will look to get back to their winning ways Tuesday night when the Charlotte Hornets invade STAPLES Center.

Something's Wrong with the Mavericks
Doc Rivers said Wednesday that there's no defined date regarding Blake Griffin's return from elbow surgery, but it's unlikely he'll suit-up when the Clippers take on the Mavericks on Friday in Dallas.

Clippers-Westbrooks Preview (March 11)
Following an ugly-but-still necessary win over the scrappy Timberwolves on Monday night at STAPLES Center, the Clippers head out on the road to take on the Oklahoma City Westbrooks on Wednesday night. OKC has announced that Kevin Durant will miss the game with his foot injury, which means the Clippers need to prep themselves for a whole lotta Westbrook.

How Will Chris Paul Be Remembered?
I'll just preface this by reminding everyone that Chris Paul is still only 29-years-old, so we're still a long way off from having to really try and put his basketball legacy into all-time perspective. But someone on Twitter last night brought-up an interesting point that got me thinking about it, nevertheless.

Scouring the Buyout Market
With the team's recent decision to sign Dahntay Jones for the remainder of this season, the Clippers officially have two vacant roster spots. According to ESPN, Doc Rivers, the man tasked with essentially single-handedly running the entire Clippers basketball operation, has already said that he plans to be active on the buyout market. A simple connecting of the dots leads us to believe Doc would love to nab a pair of players that wind up being bought-out by their current clubs. Those two roster spots were freed up when the Clips parted ways with Chris Douglas-Roberts and Jordan Farmar last month.
Surveying the Western Conference Scene at the Break
So we've officially reached the All-Star break, which, this season, is a seemingly-interminable seven-day stretch without a single meaningful basketball game. I know it's probably for the best for the players to get a full week off of work as opposed to the four-five day halt they got in previous years, but I feel like it's going to take forever to pass. How are we supposed to pass the time?

Charles Barkley vs. Analytics
On Tuesday night, the first half of a TNT doubleheader pitted the Houston Rockets against the Phoenix Suns. This, of course, meant that at halftime and following said game, we'd get a heavy dosage of analysis from the TNT crew, featuring Kenny Smith, Shaq and Charles Barkley. At this point, I've learned to essentially take anything they say with a grain of salt, since it's often fairly evident that they haven't even watched the games they're supposedly covering. Hell, Barkley even admitted on Inside the NBA that he hadn't even watched the network's Nuggets-Lakers nightcap. Ok, then.

Following Confusing Back-to-Back, Clippers Head to Brooklyn
I'm having a hard time processing what just happened with the Clippers. They kicked-off their Grammy road trip with a nice win over a pesky Utah Jazz bunch on Wednesday before a Southwest Division back-to-back that took them through New Orleans and San Antonio on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

Have the Clippers Turned it Around?
Despite remaining right in the thick of the mad dash to the final eight spots in the ultra-competitive Western Conference, the L.A. Clippers, by their recent standards, have had a fairly rough season so far. Of course, for a team like the Clippers with a rather uninspiring franchise history, it's kinda hard to complain about a season in which the team is still winning over 68% of their games. Given the expectations coming in, though, they've been a bit of a letdown.

On Doc Rivers, Struggling Basketball Executive
When the L.A. Clippers sent an unprotected first-round pick to the Boston Celtics in June of 2013 in exchange for head coach Doc Rivers, I had absolutely zero qualms whatsoever. The Clippers' roster had several key building blocks already in place with Blake Griffin, Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan. They just needed a captain to steer them in the right direction. Vinny Del Negro's win-loss record during his three-year stint at the helm was impressive, but any outside observer could tell that he wasn't going to be the guy to take the Clippers to the next level. By bringing Rivers into the fold, L.A. had landed one of the league's very best head coaches. A first-rounder is a steep price to pay in today's NBA, but it was essentially a no-brainer.

Should the Clippers Pursue Jeff Adrien?
As we've covered here many a time, the 2014-15 iteration of the L.A. Clippers is suboptimal when it comes to rebounding. While they've gotten better as the year has gone on (they now rank 24th in team rebounds per game after spending the first month or so as one of the two worst teams), it's still an area they need to improve if they have realistic hopes of winning anything meaningful.

Can the Clips Clip the Hawks' Wings?
There is no team in the NBA today hotter than the Atlanta Hawks, winners of 18 of their last 20 games overall and sitting atop the Eastern Conference. At 25-8, Atlanta boasts the league's third-best record and have won four straight. Tonight will be the final game of a three-game Western swing that has already seen them take down Utah and Portland, quite impressively. Two weeks ago, they beat the Clippers 107-104 in ATL.
