Scouring the Buyout Market

With the team's recent decision to sign Dahntay Jones for the remainder of this season, the Clippers officially have two vacant roster spots. According to ESPN, Doc Rivers, the man tasked with essentially single-handedly running the entire Clippers basketball operation, has already said that he plans to be active on the buyout market. A simple connecting of the dots leads us to believe Doc would love to nab a pair of players that wind up being bought-out by their current clubs. Those two roster spots were freed up when the Clips parted ways with Chris Douglas-Roberts and Jordan Farmar last month.

Surveying the Western Conference Scene at the Break

So we've officially reached the All-Star break, which, this season, is a seemingly-interminable seven-day stretch without a single meaningful basketball game. I know it's probably for the best for the players to get a full week off of work as opposed to the four-five day halt they got in previous years, but I feel like it's going to take forever to pass. How are we supposed to pass the time?

Charles Barkley vs. Analytics

On Tuesday night, the first half of a TNT doubleheader pitted the Houston Rockets against the Phoenix Suns. This, of course, meant that at halftime and following said game, we'd get a heavy dosage of analysis from the TNT crew, featuring Kenny Smith, Shaq and Charles Barkley. At this point, I've learned to essentially take anything they say with a grain of salt, since it's often fairly evident that they haven't even watched the games they're supposedly covering. Hell, Barkley even admitted on Inside the NBA that he hadn't even watched the network's Nuggets-Lakers nightcap. Ok, then.

DeAndre Jordan is an All-Star

Well, not really. But he should be.

Following Confusing Back-to-Back, Clippers Head to Brooklyn

I'm having a hard time processing what just happened with the Clippers. They kicked-off their Grammy road trip with a nice win over a pesky Utah Jazz bunch on Wednesday before a Southwest Division back-to-back that took them through New Orleans and San Antonio on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
